On April 11, the grand 7th anniversary celebration of the Hunan Chamber of
Commerce in Denmark(HCCD) was solemnly held in Copenhagen. Distinguished

The celebration opened with a piano performance. Young Chinese-Danish pianist Li
Xiaoyaxi (Celina) performed My Chinese Heart and Debussy’s Arabesque,
conveying the patriotic sentiments of overseas Chinese compatriots and highlighting
the profound heritage of cultural exchanges between China and Denmark. The
venue was filled with a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, where Chinese and
Danish guests exchanged ideas and held discussions on topics such as economic
and trade cooperation and the development of overseas Chinese, laying a solid
foundation for future collaborations.

In the key segment of the celebration, Xiao Lingyan, President of the Hunan
Chamber of Commerce in Denmark and President of the Danish Hunanese
Association, delivered a work report comprehensively reviewing the chamber’s
development since its founding in 2019. Over the past seven years, adhering to the
mission of “a bridge for China-Denmark exchanges and a home for overseas
Hunanese”, the chamber has carried forward the Hunan spirit and made sustained
efforts in economic and trade cooperation, science and technology, culture and

overseas Chinese services, evolving into a vital platform connecting China and
Denmark.
In terms of economic and trade exchanges, the chamber has held annual meetings
and Spring Festival galas every year, co-organized numerous China-Denmark
economic and trade conferences, organized Danish enterprises to visit Hunan, and
received nearly 20 government and business delegations. In culture and education, it
has participated in nearly 100 online international exchange events, launched
summer camp programs, and served nearly 700 overseas Chinese youth. For
member services, it has regularly provided training on taxation, law, immigration and
language to help overseas Chinese integrate into local society. It has also actively
participated in public welfare and cultural activities, promoted dragon boat culture,
rural revitalization initiatives and the international promotion of Hunan tea, and
facilitated the overseas expansion of more than 20 enterprises. In digital and
technological innovation, the chamber has explored new development paths,
participated in metaverse cultural tourism projects, with the president’s enterprise
project ranking among the top 10 in a global innovation and entrepreneurship
competition. Relying on a think tank, it has built a China-Europe artificial intelligence
exchange platform, hosted and co-hosted dozens of online and offline AI-themed
events, and promoted in-depth integration of technical talents between China and
Denmark. It also co-initiated the Europe-China Artificial Intelligence Association to
boost technological and talent cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, Dr. Tianwang Jinjian, a council member of HCCD, together with
President Xiao Lingyan and others, has led a five-year translation project of the
world’s first and most complete Chinese edition of Danish: A Comprehensive
Grammar 2 nd edition, which is to be published in the end of April, 2026, providing important support for linguistic and cultural exchanges between China and Denmark.

In his speech, Ambassador Wang Xuefeng of the Chinese Embassy in Denmark
stated that since its establishment seven years ago, the Hunan Chamber of
Commerce in Denmark has stayed true to its original aspiration and taken proactive
actions, playing an important role in rallying overseas Chinese, serving compatriots,
and promoting exchanges and cooperation between China-Denmark and Hunan-
Denmark, setting an exemplary role for overseas Chinese organizations. As China
and Denmark mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and deepen
cooperation across various fields, he expressed hope that the chamber will continue
to serve as a bridge and contribute more to the development of bilateral relations.
Reviewing the chamber’s development, Honorary President Yang Mujun noted that
the chamber has grown from scratch and expanded steadily thanks to the joint
efforts of all members. She urged continued efforts to deepen China-Denmark
integrated development and promote the global spread of Hunan culture.

Peng Zhongmin, Royal Photographer and Royal Journalist of Denmark (Vice
President of HCCD), shared his 30-year experience in international photography and
media cultural communication. Having interviewed heads of state of 69 countries, he
has published over 300,000 words of international news in Chinese, English, Danish
and Japanese. He has released 400 types of royal postcards of nine countries in 80
countries worldwide. In November 2012, his special monograph World Peace was
launched in Denmark, the “Kingdom of Fairy Tales”, and quickly gained global
promotion. He has photographed heads of state of 199 countries and key members
of 8 royal families, and published 8 works. His representative photographic work
Zhangjiajie, China has been widely influential in Europe, showcasing China’s natural
scenery and cultural heritage through authentic images. Featuring “officiality, legality,
authenticity and continuity”, the work has become an important cultural window for
the world to understand China. At the celebration, he focused on promoting
Zhangjiajie’s tourism resources, introduced the city’s ecological protection and
cultural development achievements, and invited Danish guests to visit Hunan to
deepen cultural and tourism cooperation.

The celebration also featured a variety of cultural performances and interactive
activities. Dongyi Yan(Tommy), a Soloist (advanced post graduate)candidate at the
Danish National Academy of Music (SDMK), gave an accordion performance,
enriching the artistic ambiance of the venue. The lucky draw session lifted the
atmosphere to a climax, further enhancing interactions among the guests.

Seven years of hard work have yielded fruitful results. The HCCD has become a
crucial platform for overseas Hunanese and a key bond for China-Denmark
exchanges. Standing at a new starting point, the chamber pledged to continue
rallying overseas Chinese forces, deepen cooperation in economy, trade, technology
and culture, promote Hunan culture to the world, inject new impetus into China-
Denmark relations, and compose a more brilliant chapter of cooperation on the
important occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and
Denmark.
