Transportvirksomhedens vognpark tæller over 70 moderne, satellitstyrede lastbiler og ca. 300 containere.

Crown Princess Visits Copenhagen Baby Heart Research Project

At the Copenhagen University Hospital on Monday, January 17, 2017. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark paid a visit to the Copenhagen Baby Heart research project that is being run to provide heart scans to newborn babies to help researchers and doctors “gain greater knowledge about the number of children born with heart disease.”
Mary was taken on a tour of the maternity ward and met with a number of parents whose newborns have been scanned through the project. She also watched a three-day-old baby boy receive his heart scan.
Afterwards it was over to the Hotel d’Angleterre, where the Princess, as patron, delivered the Danish Heart Association’s research grants.

Kronprinsessen Mary besøger Baby Heart på Rigshospitalet

Hjerteforeningens protektor Hendes Kongelige Højhed Kronprinsesse Mary besøger forskningsprojektet Copenhagen Baby Heart på Rigshospitalet. København Ø, kl. 14.00.17 Jan 2017.

I alt forventes ca. 30.000 nyfødte at indgå i projektet.

Copenhagen to commemorate Anzac Day

Anzac Day is one of Australia’s most important national commemorative occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Between 2014 and 2018 Australia will commemorate the Anzac Centenary, marking 100 years since our nation’s involvement in the First World War.

Anzac Day is the principal day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand for those who lost their lives in the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign of World War I and in subsequent military conflicts. Anzac Day 2015 is of special significance as it marks the 100th anniversary of the landing of the Australian and New Zealand troops (known as ‘ANZACs’) on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey.   The aim was to capture the Dardanelles, the gateway to the Bosphorus and the Black Sea. At the end of the campaign, Gallipoli was still held by its Turkish defenders. Thousands lost their lives in the Gallipoli campaign: 87,000 Turks, 44,000 men from France and the British Empire, including 8500 Australians and 2779 New Zealanders.

The Anzac Centenary is an important opportunity to build on the Anzac Legacy, and to provide a greater understanding of the freedoms and values Australia and New Zealand fought for, where troops from both countries served and the reasons two countries, seemingly remote from the conflict in Europe, participated in World War I and have since participated in subsequent conflicts across Europe, in the Asia Pacific region and in the Middle East and Africa.

The Anzac centenary is one of many military anniversaries in 2015 as we mark 100 years, 75 years and 70 years from events that happened in 1915, 1940 and 1945 respectively. It is an opportunity for all Australians to reflect upon and learn more about Australia’s history, it’s nation-building and aspects of national identity, as well as to examine the lasting impact of military service on those who have served, on their communities and on the nation as a whole. It is an opportunity to honour our military personnel and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our nation and of securing peace and freedom.

Commemoration in Denmark

The Australian Embassy has traditionally held a ceremony in Copenhagen to commemorate Anzac Day.

In addition to acknowledging the origins of Anzac Day in the Gallipoli campaign we also gather on 25 April to mark the deaths of over 100 Australians and New Zealand air force personnel who were killed in action during World War II and are buried in Denmark.

The Embassy has organised a special commemoration for 2015.

This year Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess of Denmark will join Australia’s Ambassador to Denmark, Norway and Iceland, Mr Damien Miller, members of the diplomatic corps and several hundred Australians and New Zealand community members at a memorial service taking place at 1000 hrs at the Copenhagen Citadel.

The Service will be led by the Venerable Frederick Charles Ailwood, Archdeacon Emeritus (retired) of the Diocese of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.

The service will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the soldier memorial to the Commonwealth Fallen of WWII, erected by the people of Denmark, which stands at the entrance to the Kings Gate of the Citadel.

HRH Crown Princess participates in the selection of Maternity Foundation

At kl 4 00 pm of On 22 April , 2015.  and a passionate champion of women’s health rights, will attend the event.
On 22 April, The Safe Delivery App ‒ a ground-breaking mobile training tool that can save the lives of mothers and newborn babies during pregnancy and childbirth in Africa ‒ will be launched at an event in Copenhagen attended by HRH The Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. The app has been developed by Maternity Foundation in collaboration with researchers from the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark. New research results show that The Safe Delivery App can significantly increase the ability of birth attendants to save lives.

The Safe Delivery App builds on the rapid proliferation of mobile telephony in Africa, where there are already more than 600 million mobile phone users. Mobile technology is paving the way for innovative solutions to global health problems that can be difficult to address due to geographical distance and lack of training.

The Safe Delivery App features animated videos that provide instruction for health workers in developing countries in handling childbirth complications, for example if the mother begins to bleed after giving birth or the newborn is not breathing. The videos, available both in English and local languages, can be used irrespective of poor literacy skills and language barriers. The Safe Delivery App therefore has significant and scalable potential to reach health workers in rural districts, where it is normally costly and difficult to provide conventional training programs.

The Safe Delivery App has recently undergone a clinical trial in Ethiopia. The final results will be published at the end of 2015, but data show that the app can significantly increase the ability of a health worker to prevent life-threatening childbirth complications. The ability of health workers to handle postnatal bleeding and to resuscitate a newborn more than doubled after 12 months of using the app. The biggest improvement in skills occurred among health workers on the periphery of the healthcare system, i.e. at remote outposts where the starting point was lowest and the need for training consequently highest. It is also noteworthy that the skills continued to improve throughout the 12-month period, indicating that the app is able to continuously maintain and improve the level of skills.

The final version of The Safe Delivery App will be made available for free to the health sector and NGOs in developing countries. In partnership with these major players, the app will be thoroughly tested and evaluated when it is rolled out across sub-Saharan Africa in order to continuously gather data and best practice on the results and usability of the app. So far, partnerships have been entered into with the Danish Red Cross and Marie Stopes International, which will use the app in their health programs in Guinea and Tanzania respectively. In both countries, The Safe Delivery App will initially be implemented in a single region, with a subsequent nationwide rollout in the coming years.

The Safe Delivery App will be launched on 22 April in Copenhagen as part of the celebration of Maternity Foundation’s 10-year anniversary. HRH The Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, a patron of Maternity Foundation and a passionate champion of women’s health rights, will attend the event.

The development and testing of the app have been financed by MSD for Mothers, The Obel Family Foundation and an international crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The company Visikon has produced The Safe Delivery App.

ABOUT CIFF RAVEN

As the latest development in its continuing evolution, CIFF is proud to introduce CIFF RAVEN – a brand new, sharply curated menswear and lifestyle platform in the cultural hotspot of Copenhagen, Denmark.

RAVEN is a new menswear community that brings together fashion, cuisine, design, art and culture. In a world that has become increasingly digitized and solitary, RAVEN captures the zeitgeist and inspires street culture in innovative ways, resulting in a community-driven experience and a holistic men’s lifestyle concept.

Located at Forum Copenhagen, this artfully curated trade show offers 4800 sqm of exhibition space and encompasses, under one roof, more than 100 menswear brands showcased in a “village” of sleek, minimalistic bungalows. Complementing the progressive architectural setup of the fashion displays there will be a projection room dedicated to visual art and film, a creative concept space featuring lifestyle products made exclusively for RAVEN, and a selection of Copenhagen’s finest cuisine. Our aim is for RAVEN to act as an eclectic sampling of Danish culture, as well as a microcosm of a city in which various cultural spheres gather, intersect and redefine each other. RAVEN translates this vision into stylish and innovative concepts, drawing on current vibes to create a platform that will leave a lasting mark on the fashion and lifestyle industries.

Over the past two years, CIFF has unveiled a brand new image and approach, and CIFF RAVEN will continue to position Copenhagen as an international menswear destination for brands, buyers, press and other members of the fashion industry.
